Topanga State Park
Topangans have the advantage of easy access to a unique and wonderful resource at their doorstep: the natural wonders of Topanga State Park. From after work strolls, to serious hikes and literally hundreds of miles of some of the world’s best mountain biking trails and fireroads, Topanga State Park is a wild natural oasis — an amazing island of wildlife corridors and natural environments sandwiched between the L.A. Basin and the San Fernando Valley — both highly urbanized areas.
Have you ever seen a a herd of deer in the wild a few miles from the Ventura Freeway? You would if you spent any time at all in Topanga State Park. Bobcats, coyotes, the occasional rattle snake are seen in these parts. Sometimes the best break of all is just a weekend when you don’t have to leave the canyon at all, but can stay home and enjoy the natural wonders on your doorstep.
